Managed Backup Service
The CloudBerry Managed Backup Service is a virtual machine instance running on the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). To connect a host machine to the service, simply install their client software on each host that needs to be managed. CloudBerry supports their client on a wide array of Windows and Linux operating systems. Having diverse operating system support enables enterprise users to use CloudBerry to backup most or all of their infrastructure.
Administrators can configure CloudBerry Managed Backup to use the Scality RING by selecting the S3 compatible provider from the CloudBerry Managed Backup web console. Next, they will be able to manage and monitor their backups jobs. The entire process is more simple and cost-effective than managing tape backups and media.
By using the Scality RING with CloudBerry Managed Backup, customers will have an enterprise-ready backup storage solution that can scale across multiple physical sites with data protection mechanisms such as erasure coding and replication.
