With over 3 million visitors a year, that’s a tall order! The Tottenham Hotspur Football Club purposefully planned for an iconic, state-of-the-art arena that would stand the test of time while bringing to life the most engaging, safe experience for fans.
Technology is embedded in all aspects of the stadium. Its digital platform integrates technology solutions from twelve service providers to enhance every detail of match day, including security, retail, energy management, broadcasting and more. Everything is flexible, connected, and automated to minimize friction, maximize operational efficiencies and wow Spurs fans.
The challenge
To support their journey to building one of the most technologically advanced stadiums in the world, Tottenham selected HPE and Scality as their top world-class technology partners. HPE was selected for its broad expertise in designing and delivering end-to-end solutions, and Scality RING was selected as the core technology to ensure a safe experience for all visitors.
The HPE + Scality solution helps Tottenham:
- Manage large-scale video files from over 700 CCTV cameras
- Achieve edge-to-core data management by storing video from cameras across the stadium directly into a data lake repository within the core data center

Two data centers power the Tottenham arena — from fan engagement analytics to back-end operations — and one of them is even part of the visitor experience. Fans at the North-West Corner of Level 1 can take a look at the technology behind Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
“To put our data center behind glass is a pretty bold step. But for us, it’s to say, ‘This is where the technology is, this is what’s driving us’,” Tottenham’s CTO explains.
